College Library

The college library is essential for education. It is the hub of education around which all academic activities revolve. The college library provides the college community with a wide range of scholarly materials that are consistent with the institutions mission, curricula/ research needs and academic freedom tenets. In order to inculcate the habit of reading amongst the students, the college has a well stocked library. The students, the faculty members and the non-teaching staffs have an access to the books in the library. The college library has a large collection of text books, reference books, general awareness and competitive books. The total collection of the library is 3807.

Library Rules and Regulations

• All the students/scholars and outsiders entering the Library shall keep their bags and other personal belongings at the entrance.
• Only notebooks and the Library books will be allowed inside. All the readers are advised not to leave their valuables at the Check Point. Library is not responsible for any loss of personal belongings. Library does not permit any exception in the observance of this rule.
• I Card is compulsory for entering the library.
• Books Borrowed should be protected from RAIN, DUST, INSECT, etc.
• Books removed from the shelves, if not required further, should be kept on the book trolley/ table nearest to them. Please do not try to shelve them yourself. Please remember that a book misplaced is a book lost.
• Newspaper should be folded properly after reading and kept back in the designated place. Readers should not deface, mark, cut, mutilate or damage library resources in any way. If anyone is found doing so, he will be charged the full replacement cost of the resource.
• The college library is open for students & staff from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. on all working days Students are allowed to get issued only one book at a time which has to be returned within 7 days failing which a fine of Re. 1 per day is charged.
• Students are directed to handle books properly. Anybody found misusing the books/newspaper etc. will be punished under rules.
• If a borrowed book is lost/torn/spoiled the students responsible for it will be liable to replace it or pay double the cost of the book.
• Students appearing for University examination shall surrender their library card before getting Roll no. slips. Borrowers, faculty, staff going on long leaves like deputation, study leave will have to return all borrowed books. All the students who want to return the books issued on their names are advised to wait until the books are shown as cancelled against their names.
• Students are advised not to issue Books to others on their names. Reference Documents like Dictionary, Encyclopedia, Year Books, Journals (Loose & Bound), Theses, Project Reports, Census, Handbooks will not be issued out. Conversation and discussion disturbs library ambience. Therefore, all are requested to maintain dignified silence. If discussion is necessary, the common room should be utilized for the same. Smoking is not permitted in the Library.
• Use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited in the library premises. All users are requested to keep their mobiles in silent mode. Mobile Zones, available on each floor, may be used to attend calls.
• Beverages and Eatables are not allowed inside the library.
• No visitor or guest is permitted to use the Library without properly obtaining library membership.
• No photograph of the Library shall be taken without the prior permission of the Librarian.
• The Library reserves the right to call back any issued book/item at any time.
• Demand and suggestion slips are available at the circulation desk for your use.
